Edward smiled softly. "You said you were wondering, therefore I felt compelled to answer." He grinned. "So, did that thought count as your question or would you like another go?" He spoke pleasantly to her as he once again placed his elbows on the table, and folded his hands in front of his face.

I smiled lightly and shook my head. "No.. go ahead and ask.." I smiled and shrugged, another blush filling my cheeks.

"Alright." Edward smiled again, though it faded as he set his watchful gaze on her, scanning her features up and down.. Trying to think of another question to ask her..
"I haven't heard very much mention of your father.." He pointed out, "What happened to him?" He asked. His voice was hinted with concern for her, unknowing of where her father was.. Or if he was even alive.

I felt a pang in my stomach, anything but that.. be he had choosen, I had to answer, this was sort of a game of confession, you had to answer truthfully.. I forced a smile, then sighed.. "My parents divorced when I was younger(lets say 7 even though in her history it says 14) I sighed a little and shrugged. "He hasn't been around since.."

Feeling slightly angered by that poor reason to leave one's daughter, Edward let out a pitiful sigh.
"That's a disgusting way to go." He looked away from her, unable to take that look in her eyes much longer. "Men should never leave their families out in the dark like that." He spoke again, clearly stating the obvious. "I'm sorry.." Was the last thing he added before deciding to give her a chance to say something, if she even planned on it.

I shrugged. "I know.. I've learned to live with it.. I've forgiven him, with Gods help.. I've learned to forget how much pain he cause the family.." I said in a choked voice, then I shrugged and forced a smile. "That's just the way life goes.." I sighed and looked at him. "What about your family? Any sisters, brothers? Parents?" I smiled a little as I asked.

"Not sure that would cut it, if it were me." Edward would mutter inaudibly as he looked into his lap, but he looked back up at her quickly. Not really because she had asked him a question, but because he could almost hear the smile in her voice.. And he just couldn't wait to see it.
"Well, my biological parents died.. A long time ago." He paused in the middle of the sentence, but continued almost immediately. "My adoptive parents are Carlisle and Esme, and I have Two brothers, and two sisters.. Jasper, Emmet, Alice, and last, but never least.. Rosalie." His last words were hinted with sarcasm, but he continued. "Carlisle and Esme adopted them, too."

I nodded as I listened and smiled. "I'm sorry to hear about your parents. But I bet Carlisle and Esme are nice," I said hopefully. "They sound nice... Just.. by the way you say their rnames.." I smiled, then questioned about Rosalie. "What's wrong with Rosalie?" I asked curiously.

Edward smiled softly at her. "Thank you very much.. Carlisle and Esme really are very kind.." He said gratefully, nodding his head slightly. "Then again, I guess must be to have adopted Five kids. . ." He chuckled jokingly. Although, his face went grim as she mentioned his sister.
"Rosalie and I just don't get along all that great, that's all." He stated, giving it a bit of a hinted tone.. But he let it go afterwards. "What about your mother? What's she like?" He inquired kindly.

I smiled and nodded. "Ahh... brotherly love huh?" I teased a little, then let it go, just incase he didn't like it.. I then shrugged. "Well, she's sort of a spazz, she looked for her glasses while she is wearing them, then points out after I tell her she's wearing them that she could see better with them on, so she decided to look for them while she still could..." I smiled and laughed at the memory.. "She's a great cook too.. give her a few ingredients and she'll make the most delicious thing you've ever taste in your life!" I laughed and looked at Edward, watching his expressions, trying to read him as he said he read others.. but couldn't read me... I wasn't any good at it, so gave up after a few seconds.

Edward laughed as she told the small story, nodding a couple of times. "Yes, well.." He said through laughter. "She sounds like a very wonderful person." He would said once his almost unstoppable chuckling finally subsided. He searched her green eyes, searching for something.. Anything.. and for the first time.. He could actually tell something by them. She loved her mother. He could never really learn to trust someone by their words. Now normally, reading their minds was a big bonus in that area.. He could just see how they really felt.. What they really were thinking behind their masking words. But with her, her eyes showed love.. Laughter. He could tell they had good times in the past, and just the thought was enough to make him smile more than he had in quite a while.

His laugh made me want to keep laughing, and I nodded. "She is.. even though she is a forgetful spazz1" I giggled and shook my head at the laughter.. I smiled as I looked at him, he was searching for something in my eyes, I didn't want to look away I just wanted to let him search, look at his strange but beautiful eyes... I sighed and finally pulled my gaze away looking at the table. I had just met him yesterday, but I felt like I had known him my whole life. He actually seemed interesting in what I had to say, no matter how stupid or absurd. It made me feel..I don't know..

Edward smiled, and with a sigh, said; "Sometimes, you don't realize how much you really love the little nuisances caused by people you love until they're gone." He stated softly, his smile fading into a more comforting smirk. "I believe it's your turn for a question," He pointed out in a low voice.

I nodded.. "Ahah! Yes it is!" I said looking thoughtful for a moment. Then I smirked. "Okay.. why did you act so strange on the beach the other day?" I asked raising and amused eyebrow and leaned forward a bit as I questioned.

Edward chuckled. "You know, you aren't very creative with your questions." He mused, but instantly spoke again to stop her from replying to that statement. "Well.. I don't know. You've never heard of a guy being shy before?" He challenged, raising an eyebrow and leaning forward just as she did, in playful mockery of her.

I frowned a little. "Oh shut up!!" I laughed and tossed my head back a bit, then looked back at him, my bangs falling over my eyes. "I just found it hard to believe someone as composed as you are being shy!" I challenged. "Besides, why would you be shy around me?!"

Edward barked in laughter as her reaction, returning to his position he was in prior to playfully mocking her. He leaned back in his seat, crossing one leg over the other, and crossing his arms tightly over his chest. "I'm probably not as well composed as I seem." He lightly teased, keeping a single eyebrow cocked at her. "And, why wouldn't I be? I imagine a lot of guys have been.. am I right?" He guessed, giving her a half-smile.

I laughed lightly and shook my head. "Not really.. " I admitted and shrugged lightly, not really caring.. "Wait... are you admitting that I'm good looking?!" I laughed lightly, it was a joke, but I was waiting for an answer.. Hoping he would answer, because some guys just avoid those questions. Be he didn't seem normal...In a strange sort of way.

Edward looked at her skeptically, keeping the smile pinned on his pale face. "Is it okay if I am?" He asked half-jokingly, relaxing his raised eyebrow. He subconsciously leaned in, resting his elbows on the table and looking deeper into her eyes. His eyes narrowed slightly as he analyzed her expression, trying to guess what she was thinking before she said it.

I was surprised.. to say the least, I just stared at the table.. "I guess..." I teased lightly as I then looked back up at him, he ad leaned forward, and was staring again. He did that a lot.. I just shrugged it off and looked at my hands that rested on the table in front of me. "You didn't have to answer you know..." I laughed a little and smiled.

Edward discontinued staring once again and very slightly leaned back, keeping his elbows pressed on the table top. "But you were hoping I would.. Right?" He smirked, turning his head very slightly to the side as he looked at her with a playful, but sarcastic expression.

I twisted my lips into a small smirk and laughed gently. "I might have been..." I joked and leaned back in my seat. I had completely forgotten about my cone, it was almost melted in the cone. "Oh gosh..." I laughed and took a small bite out of the cone, my mouth filling with the sweet cream.

Edward lifted his eyebrows as he glanced at her -- very sad looking -- melted ice cream cone. His gaze lifted to her as she took a loose bite of the cone, and he glanced out the window for a moment. His gaze sifted through the crowd of people that worked their way through the traffic. He searched for the now-familiar faces of Hero's brothers, but couldn't quite find them. "It would seem as if your brothers left." He kept his head turned toward the window, but looked back at Hero.

I shrugged as I heard him speak. "They have minds of their own.. Besides if they get lost that's their problem, they're big boys now.."I laughed gently, quickly drinking the melted ice cream, and taking small bites of the soggy cone. It wasn't that good so I got up and walked over to the trash and dumped it in. "So.. what now?!"I asked after I had walked back and was leaning on the table.

Edward stood up just before she did, habit of good manners from his.. Human days. He didn't remember much from back then, but habit of old-fashioned manners was something he thought he would always have with him.
"I don't know," He honestly answered as he rest a single arm on the table, leaning a majority of his weight on that arm. "What would you like to do?" He challenged, looking at her with a single eyebrow raised.
