"Well... I usually sing to pass time.. or while I'm on the computer I'll just randomly start singing, I also do homework, of course, and I like to roleplay, as weird as it sounds, but I'm really into literature, and enjoy it a lot.." I trailed off.... watching him watch me, it made me blush and smiled a little. To change the subject from me I decided to ask him some other questions. "What languages are you studying?!"I asked looking genuinely curious.

We were now approaching the ice cream parlor, and my brother Mike was already waiting for me and holding the door.

Edward smiled as he listened to her speak of her interests. When she further asked him about his own, he shook his head back and forth slowly, a grin wide on his face. "Now wait, I'm not done." He said in a soft voice. "What kind of music do you sing?" He inquired, trying not to read her thoughts the best he could. As long as he kept his mind preoccupied, it was generally easy to put aside her thoughts, and everyone's around him. As they came to the door, he paused.. Waiting for everyone else to walk in before he did.

I slid in through the door before him and turned back as I was a ways in. "Well... a little of everything, but I like slow songs that aren't too high, because I'm not good at hitting high notes... AT ALL!"I laughed gently and made a small face then smiled. "NOW are you done?" I teased.

"Not quite," The corners of his lips curled up slightly into a grin as he walked in after her brothers, once again joining Hero at her side. "Have you ever thought about going professional?" He asked, continuing to stare into her eyes. [Short.]

I stared right back, not planning to look away.. His eyes said so much.. yet so little... If that makes any sense to you, but it does to me! I shook my head and shrugged. "Nope.... I don't even know him I'm that good.... sometimes you think you have a good voice and to others it might sound like crap, so.. I rather not find out which it is, because it it's bad then I might never sing..." I explained hurriedly and laughed a little when I was done.

Edward nodded, taking his intense gaze away from her face. "Well, I'm sure you're wonderful." He looked at her, flashing another crooked, yet near perfect smile. He then switched his gaze to the menu, looking at it up and down uninterestedly, then he glanced at her. "What are you getting?" He asked with a low tone in his voice.

I felt myself blush again, almost being able to picture my pink cheeks. I shrugged. "I don't know about wonderful.." I laughed gently and smiled up at him. I then glanced at the menu also. My brothers were already ordering, and Rob called over to me. "What do you want?" I shrugged. "Something simple.. how about a vanilla chip cone?" Rob nodded and turned to the cashier. She nodded and typed it on her little computer. "I guess that answers your question.." I laughed.. "Ummm. Edward, would you like something?" Mike asked turning towards us as Robert had. I looked at Edward and waited.

Edward politely shook his head back and forth in reply to Mike's offer. "I'm not really hungry, but thank you." He declined in the kindest way, offering a smile to Mike. "I think I'll just enjoy the company, for now."
He unlocked his fingers and let them hang at his side for a moment, but then almost immediately tucked them back into his jean pockets.

Mike shrugged and said something to the cashier she nodded and turned, walking over to the large grass cooler with all the flavors, she got out a ice cream scooper and dipped it in hot water, then easily got out one scoop of ice cream and slid it into the waffle cone. I looked at Edward and smile. "Soooo, what languages do you study?!" I asked again smiling a curious smile.

Edward chuckled darkly, facing downward but looking up at her through his eyelashes. "You aren't gonna give up on that, are you?" He sighed, keeping the grin on his face.
Deciding he knew what her answer would be, he let out a short exhale and his lips parted just before he spoke. "Latin, mostly." He answered in a soft voice, locking his gaze into her eyes.

"Nope I'm not..!"I laughed and listened to him. "Latin, sounds interesting.. I know a little spanish, but they are different in some areas..." I trailed off, "But very similar also.."

I shrugged and smiled, noticing how he looked at me and shying away from hi gaze made me blush more. What the heck was the matter with me?! I was so.. SHY! I was hardly ever shy! Weird.. I shrugged and looked down. "Is that ALL you do? Do you hang out with friends, or family?" I asked smiling a little as I looked back up at him. I felt a little poke in my arm, and Rob was holding my cone out towards me. I smiled. "Thanks!" I said and took it from him, licking the cold ice cream, mmm! SO GOOD!

Edward tilted his head slightly, then glanced at her brothers for a moment. "Umm," He said absentmindedly, returning his gaze to her after a short moment of silence. "I write my own piano music, I listen to CDs often, I sometimes go.. Hiking." He half-made up the last one, making a last attempt to make his activities at least somewhat resemble that of a real 17-year old. "Normal stuff, really." He breathed.

"Hmmm, sounds interesting! I like to hike to!" I said with a small smile and nodded a little.. I motioned towards a little booth. "Ummm.. want to sit down?" I asked, we were awkwardly staring near the door, and people were constantly having to go around us. I laughed a little. (shortness :O)

Edward chuckled softly and nodded, walking toward the book she'd motioned to. He slid in first, not wanting to make her or her brothers feel uncomfortable, then folded his hands on the table and looked at the three, politely waiting for them to join him. A waiting smile was on his face, and he glanced around, wanting to keep his gaze set on Hero.. But he didn't want to scare her away.

I smiled and slid in across from him. Mike looked at his brother and they exchanged a knowing glance, they looked around and Rob exclaimed. "Oh hey! Look one of our cousins!" He smiled and waved, the guy waved back. "Okay.. see you two later, we're going to go say hi!..." He smiled. "Yeah, see ya!" Mike chimed in and they both made their way across the room. "Ummm... Okay.. bye?!" I laughed and looked at Edward, "Sooo.... what's up?" I asked and laughed, trying to make small talk.

Edward watched as Mike and Rob walked across the parlor and out the glass door, returning his gaze to Hero once they were out of his sight. "Nothing more than a few minutes ago, I assure you." He joked with a crooked smile. "Now.. where were we?" He asked with a toned voice, sarcastically raising an eyebrow and looking up and to the right in exaggerative, playful thought.
"Ah, yes." He said after a moment, looking down and facing her once again. "Is it my turn to ask a question now?" He tilted his head slightly to the right, giving her a slight pleading look.

I giggled a little as I watched his pale face, then I nodded. "Yes I believe so.." I said, wondering why he was so pale. He face looked smooth.. Age free.... It made me want to reach my hand out and randomly touch it. I quickly shook my head and looked away blushing, my thoughts sometimes got the best of me. THANK GOODNESS that no one could read my mind. He'd probably get freaked out and run away from me. I laughed internally at the random thoughts that popped in and out of my head.

"Excellent," Edward grinned and rest his elbows on the table,folding his hands in front of his face. "What are you thinking right now?" He quizzically asked her, looking curiously into her eyes. He let his hands drop to the table again, crossing them over each other, each hand grasping tightly around the opposite arm's forearm.

Oh gosh! Just the question I needed to be asked! I stammered nervously. "I..uh...mmmm... Wasn't it my turn to ask a question?" I said saving myself and tilting my head, a cute smile pulled across my lips as I looked back at him, a look of triumph in my eyes. I had saved myself! HAH! Well... not for long.. I suspected..

Edward's hands released his forearms, and they tightened quickly into fists. His knuckles went even whiter than his skin. Rather than the look of anger on his face anyone would have suspected to see after seeing his hard he clenched his hands, his eyes were almost pleading. And his lips twitched, just barely smiling.. But not quite.
"Not until you answer mine," He would say as he forced a small smile, though it looked a good deal like a natural grin. "I can read most people.. I guess you could say it's a gift. But I find you.. Hard to read. I can't ever tell what you're thinking."

Edward tilted his head again, staring into her dark green eyes. "You're lying," He pointed out immediately, a grin widening on his face. "Come on, give me something more." He pushed, trying his best to give her his very persuasive expression. "It's very agitating, you know."

Edward chortled, loosening his fists and looking down into his lap for a few moments. "Okay, I'll say it." He looked at her again, still chuckling. "You have weird thoughts." He added teasingly. "But, unfortunately, I can't really answer that. I can honestly say I don't know why I'm pale." He shrugged. "Sorry."

I let out a small sigh, and a small frown formed on my lips. "You know, I wasn't serious!" I teased and laughed gently, playfully shoving his shoulder a bit.. I did it lightly but it hurt my hand, gosh this guy was HARD! How.. Odd?! I thought and tilted my head a little. [short xD]
