I laughed lightly and nodded. I nodded even more when he said 'hear me play' then I looked at him curiously.. "Where?" I asked enthusiastically.

Edward glanced toward her house, then at his car. "Here," He walked to the passenger door and opened it for her, standing aside so she could step in. "We'll go for a little ride. Promise you'll be back here before long." He smiled, wrapping his fingers around the top of the car door.

I smiled and glanced back at the house. My mom was taking a nap and my brothers had left early this morning, obviously not without telling my mom about Edward, now she was really curious. I slid into the seat and looked at Edward with a small smile.

Edward smiled and shut the door after she got in, dashing around the front of the car and getting to his door at a record speed.. For humans.
He opened his door and slid into the seat, returning his dark glasses to their place on his head. He shut the door and turned the key in ignition, remaining quiet as it purred to a start. "Buckle in," He instructed without doing so himself, and pulled the shift into reverse, pressing firmly down on the gas pedal.

I nodded as I watched him, automatically pulling on the seat belt. I looked out the window and smiled a little. Well, this should be fun, I was going to hear him play. Random thoughts ran through my head as I wondered where he Was going to take me, his house maybe? A piano studio? Who knew?!

Edward peeled quickly out of the driveway, not to wake her mother with screeching tires. Once on the road, he pushed the shift into drive, then pressed the gas again. The car moved forward quickly, surprisingly without a disturbing jerk forward when it got going.
"So, I bet you're wondering where I'm taking you." He kept one hand on the wheel and looked at her calmly, despite the fact that the car was going about 98mph down the road.

I was startled and stared forward. I was NOT used to going 98mph on a NEIGHBORHOOD ROAD! I was a little wide eyed, but managed to nod as I ripped my gaze away and looked at Edward. I managed a meek laugh and nodded. "Yeah.. curious... wondering where you're taking me.." I mumbled.

Edward chortled and faced the road again, merely for her comfort. "I'm taking you to my place," He declared in a low voice. "But don't worry. . . Jasper, Alice and Rosalie aren't there, and Carlisle is at work. It'll just be Emmet, Esme, you and I. If that's alright with you, of course.." He gave her one subtle glance, but looked at the road ahead once again. He slowed to a stop at the three-way intersection, then took a left out onto the main road. The car easily sped up once again, going slightly faster than before; as the road was now empty.

I laughed nervously. Then I nodded. "Sounds perfect.. Esme is your mom, and Emmet is your brother?!" I questioned, to make sure so when I got there I would know who they were to him then I looked up at him with a curious gaze. "Do you think they'll like me?" I asked curiously.

Edward nodded. "Right," He confirmed, then chuckled. "You're about to go into a house full of vampires. And you're worried that they won't like you?" [Totallystolenlinefromthebookkthxbai] He shook his head a bit as he laughed. "You really are a lot.. Different than most people." He looked over at her with a lifted eyebrow, smirking.
He slowed almost to a stop as he came to a hidden turn into the woods. He sharply turned the steering wheel to the right, and pulled in. The car hardly made any noise as it drove over the numerous rocks and sticks, through the makeshift path.

I nodded and then laughed a bit and shrugged. "I guess I am different than mist people." I said looking away and smiling to myself. I watched as the cars flew past us down the highway after we turned, then I made a mental note to remember this turn. I looked into the woods, it looks sort of lonesome. But I guess this is where they lived.

"I guess so," Edward murmured and looked ahead, pressing down on the gas pedal a little harder to push the car to go faster. Dirt stirred up behind the vehicle, leaving a cloudy trail behind.

It was after about Three minutes of driving down the forest path at a very brisk speed. But they made it to the house with the car untouched, and Edward cut the engine. "Well, here it is." He announced, leaning forward a bit to look at the house through the windshield.
He then let out a short sigh and climbed out of the car, running around the front of it and opening Hero's for her. His smile showed up as he looked at her over the top of the door, both eyebrows lifted playfully.

I sat silently as the minutes ticked by, the road was long, and winded around a lot through the trees. I stared out into the forest, and could smell the pines through my slightly opened window. It was glorious, to say the least, I loved the woods, and reamed of living in a house buried deep into them.. It looks like Edward already had that. I sighed a little. It was so nice! When we got to the house I slipped out of my seat and smiled up at Edward, then turned my gaze towards the large, modern white house, it was mostly glass. "Wow.. nice house!" I said and looked up at it. It was big, and full of light. I could see., what I guessed to be, family of his walking around in some of the rooms. I took in a deep breath and shifted my weight, feeling sort of nervous. Not because I was scared, but because I wondered if they would like me or not.

"Thank you," Edward said, shutting the car door once she was clear of it. He bent his arm and held out his elbow for her to hold, looking at her with an almost impish grin. "Nervous yet?" He pondered, beginning to walk slowly toward the house. The dried soil and small twigs crunched very quietly under his shoes as he took each step slowly, waiting for her to take his arm.

"Ehhh...maybe a little.." I laughed lightly and let my fingers reach out and hold onto his cold elbow. I glanced up at his face then looked towards the house. "What do you think they'll say?" I asked curiously and bit my lip.

Edward smiled and looked ahead as he climbed the wooden steps up to the front door. "Well, they already know about you if that's what you're asking. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to learn you're visiting." He winked once at her, then grabbed the doorknob and turned it, pushing it open. A cool breeze blew out of the main room and onto them, and Edward looked at Hero. "Ladies first," He motioned into the house with his hand, palm turned up and fingers spread out.

I bit my lip a little harder and nodded. Stepping into the modern entry way, the house was basically white, with modern furniture, and everything was still and silent. I glanced around me, and it was also chilly. Goosebumps appeared on my arms and I quickly rubbed them away, not wanting anyone to ask me if I was okay or needed anything, or if I was cold.. I didn't want to be a problem.

Edward stepped in after Hero, removing his arm from her grasp to shut the door behind them. He tucked both his hands in his back pockets and looked around, exhaling noisily. "Well, this is it." He said after a few short moments of silence. He took a couple more steps in and glanced around. "Everyone must be upstairs. But trust me, they'll be down here before lo-" He couldn't even finish his sentence before Carlisle showed up in front of the two, standing there with his hands behind his back as if he'd been there all along.
"Carlisle," Edward said, almost taken by surprise.. But not quite. "I thought you were at work." His tone almost sounded disapproving, but Carlisle knew otherwise.
"Home for lunch, son." Carlisle's small smile widened slightly as he looked at Hero. "My name is Carlisle," He said in a slightly louder, more welcoming tone. "You must be Hero." He offered his right hand to shake her's.

I was watching Edward and was really startled when Carlisle showed up right in front of us, I jumped back a little and jumped right into Edward. "Agh.. umm sorry..." I said with a small laugh. I looked at Carlisle. He had just, showed up, out of nowhere.. I guess that was to be expected, being a vampire and all. I looked at them both, turning a dark crimson. How embarrassing.

Edward chuckled quietly at Hero's little mis-step, but tried to be as subtle about it as possible. He cleared his throat, then waited for Carlisle.
"Well, sorry about that." Carlisle's smile still remain as he pulled back his hand and put it behind his back once again. "I'll leave you two alone, but I can't promise it will be long before Emmet comes down to see what smells so good." Carlisle said wryly, then walked back up the stairs at a "human" pace.
"Sorry," Edward said once Carlisle was out of sight. "Home is the only place we don't have to act human. So most of the time, we don't." He chuckled.

I shifted, 'smells so good?' awkward.. I had forgotten, they look at me as food.. I guessed. Well, they were in their words 'vegetarians'. I shuddered a bit, then looked at Edward and laughed lightly. "So.. according to you all. I smell good?" I laughed lightly.

Edward exhaled, he'd been dearly hoping that she'd disregarded that. "You can't help it." He sheepishly smiled. "Don't worry. You're safer than anywhere else here." He added with an assuring glance at her, then opened his hand to the rest of the house. "Would you like a tour?" He offered, taking a few steps into the living room. The living room was just a few paces from the Foyer, and held a Large white Grand piano on the far side of it, on a small elevated space. The Futon, and chairs matched the Piano; white as linen. And the coffee table in the center of the furniture was based with black iron, and the top was glass.

I nodded and felt reassured by his words. "Of course!" I said enthusiastically and followed him into the living room. The first thing I noticed was the foyer, with the grand piano. I bit my lip in excitement and touched his arm raising my eyebrows in a pleading way, as if to say, 'please'. I smiled as I looked at him with puppy eyes. I wanted to hear him play again.. He might say after the tour.. I was okay with that, as long as he was going to play.

Edward looked down at Hero, amused. "Alright," He exhaled. "I'll play.. Then you can have the grand tour." He looked at the Piano for a moment, then looked down and walked toward it, stepping up onto the elevated space without even thinking about taking the step. His gaze was still set down as he sat down on the white, shiny bench. His eyes looked over the keys as the fingers on his right hand tapped on them, as if warming up. "Would you like to hear the one I played back at the shop, or a different one?" He asked, almost already knowing the answer. A few seconds after asking, he lifted his gaze from the piano and looked at Hero.

I silently followed him and stood beside him on the elevated area. I shrugged. "Well, I wouldn't mind hearing the other song again, but if you have others that's great too!" I laughed lightly and shifted my weight as I looked back at him with a smile on my face.
