Edward marginally slowed the Volvo down as he pulled into the neighborhood, looking at the houses as he passed. One... A short, one-story yellow house with green shutters and an almost completely flat roof. Two.. A two-story brick house with white shutters and a black roof, very well taken care of. Three.. A less fortunate one-story house, with overgrown grass and weeds popping up at the mail box post. Four... An average house, two stories, with sage green paneling and white shutters. Finally, Five.. A tall, well-taken care of White house with a plentiful amount of windows set about. Three stories high.
He pulled into the cement driveway smoothly, the car barely making a noise as the tires sharply turned. As soon as he was in the driveway, he cut the engine and climbed out, leaving the key in ignition. He looked up into the tree and leaned over his car, folding his arms over each other and resting them on top of the car. "Was I a bad influence on you?" He jokingly asked, referring to her climbing into the tree just to read. The sun glasses were still on him. They were wide, but narrow. And dark enough that his eyes weren't easily visible. A wide smirk was spread across his face as he waited for an answer.

I didn't pay much attention as I saw a car drive into the driveway and park, I thought it might have been my moms friends, or something. I then heard that the door opened and was lightly shut, I continued staring at the leaves of the tall tree, and was startled as I heard a familiar voice. It was Edward! I jumped a little and sat straight, looking directly down on him. I smirked. "Nah, I love climbing trees!" I laughed lightly and looked around us.. "Heyy.. how did you find my house?" I asked curiously and smiled lightly.

Edward smiled and stopped leaning on his car, wandering to the trunk of the tree and then leaning on it. He crossed his arms over his chest and grinned. "I ran into that Newton kid at the park a little while ago. Nice guy." He sarcastically added the last bit, but never lost his crooked smile.

I stared down at him, and instantly before thinking I blurted out. "What did he tell you?" I said and looked a little worried, then the creases on my forehead lightened. He could read minds, it didn't matter what Mike had told him. I laughed lightly. "So, how was that little get together?" I asked more calmly.

"Nothing, really." Edward glanced away for a moment, then looked back up at Hero. "But you really should have told me how close you two are. He seems very... Protective of you." He wryly spoke, finally pulling off his sun glasses.

I scowled. "HAH! He's sooo intense it drives me crazy!" I said and looked bewildered, Mike, protective, us close?! I looked a little disgusted too, that was just ... EWW! I shook my head. "We are everything BUT close!" I said.

Edward chortled. "I understand," He said, wryly once again. "So, do you plan on coming down or am I going to have to continue talking to you like this?" He asked jokingly, tilting his head back at a borderline awkward angle to look at her. [Shortt.]

I laughed gently and stood up, balancing on the tree branch. "Only if you catch me!" I said and crossed my arms and raised my eyebrows a little, teasing him. Then I sat down on the branch and slowly slid forward a bit, trying to reach the next branch so I could maybe jump if it wasn't too high.

"Ah-ah-ah," Edward said disapprovingly. "Now, it isn't me I'm worried about. But I have a feeling I wouldn't be much help in that case... It wouldn't hurt much less to hit me than the ground." He grinned. "Just slowly lower yourself down... If need be, I'll catch you." He instructed, looking intently up into the tree and trying to mentally make a path for her to take down.

I laughed gently and nodded. "I figured as much.. that's the only draw back.." I laughed and slid forward, the tip of my toe reaching the other branch and I lowered myself a bit more. I was going for the third branch that was still 5 feet up in the air and my foot slipped, I fell backwards with a small yelp, I closed my eyes waiting for the hard impact of the ground.

Edward let out a short breath as he watched her, but held it as he saw her begin to lose her step. Faster than anyone could imagine, he took about five steps backwards to get himself below her, and held out his arms to catch her in mid air. He was still holding his breath as he lowered his arms slightly when she hit his arms, trying to take away as much of the shock as possible. Once all was still, he stood up straight again and looked at her, letting out his breath. "I suppose I shouldn't have expected much more from you than to fall..." The corners of his lips curled up in a grin as he looked at her with narrowed eyes.

I was startled when I felt his steel arms around me, the shock was less than it would've been if I had hit the pavement. I slowly cracked my eyes open and looked up at him. "I wasn't really worrying about being careful.. You being here and all...." I laughed lightly and shrugged, a small yawn escaping my lips.

Edward laughed once. "I may not always be there to catch you, you know." He lightly warned, then began to lower her legs so she could stand on her own. The last thing he wanted was her mother or brothers to look out the window or come out, to see an almost total stranger holding their daughter/sister in his arms.

I laughed lightly.. "Well, that's too bad.." I said, putting on a sad face, just wanting to see his reaction as I looked up at him through my dark eyelashes. I looked down and bit my lip a little. Waiting.

Edward scoffed, glancing away for a moment, but almost immediately returning his gaze to Hero's eyes. "Oh, come on. Don't do that to me." He pleaded half-jokingly, smiling meekly. He held the arm that supported her legs slightly lower than the other, allowing her to get off if she wanted to, but not exactly letting go.

I shrugged. "Why not?" I said with a small little smirk, wondering why he had said that.. 'Don't do that to me?' what's that supposed to mean? I smiled a little and slipped out of his gentle grasp. "Well, thanks for catching me." I laughed lightly.

"I mean don't give me that.. Look." Edward tried to explain, speaking with a soft tone. He slid his arms out gently from underneath her, giving her upper back a small push to make sure she had her balance. Once she was steady, he pulled his arm away and then tucked his cold hands gently into his jean's pockets. "It's hardly fair." He added in with a quiet chuckle.

I laughed gently and looked up at him through my eyelashes again, then I shrugged and looked at him directly. "Sooo.. what are youuu doing here?" I asked and raised my eyebrows curiously and shifted my weight a little.

Edward lightly shrugged. "It's sunday. I don't have anything to do." He said smugly. "I came to ask if you wanted to do something. That is, if you'll have time before your date with Newton." He lifted one eyebrow, smirking still.

"GAH! It's not a DATE!!" I said and looked at him with a small frown creasing my forehead. I then shrugged a little. "Well, I guess I have a little time... just a little.. I'm planning on getting all dolled up for the date.." I said sarcastically.

Edward laughed. "You really should prioritize telling him that." He joked, putting his hands behind hi back and lacing his fingers within themselves. "So, since you have.. Just a little time. What would you like to do?" He offered, straightening his posture and looking at her with smoldering eyes.

I looked away from his smoldering gaze. "Would you mind doing the honors??!" I asked teasingly and smiled up at him. "Well.. Anything you feel like doing!" I stated and beamed. Well this had been totally unexpected, and I would do just about anything he felt like doing.

Edward pondered for a moment, allowing his gaze to drift off. "When the right time comes." He looked down at her with a grin.
"As for what we should do..." He thought for a few seconds, looking thoughtful. "Well, I don't know." he finally concluded, looking back at her. "What haven't you done here yet?" He then asked, tucking his hands into his back pockets.

I watched his face as he thought. Then I looked thoughtful a moment. "I haven't gone to the amusement park on 5th avenue..The opened a new piano shop somewhere in downtown... uhmm..." I murmured as I thought.

Edward pursed his lips and thought for a moment. "Amusement park... Probably not a great idea." He cut that out, mentally shuddering at just the thought of all that could go wrong. "A piano store would be interesting. . . But if you really only want to go there to hear me play, I think I could think of a better place that you could listen." His eyes lit up, as if a light bulb had just went off in his head.
