Animorphs

I shook my head and stood my ground, objecting Skye's comment.
-That's like saying we might's well die.- I snapped, pulling my ears back against my head. -I say we wait here for someone to come get us. Somebody will come eventually-. I repositioned my paws on the firm ground, and swayed my tail back and forth.

-...fineee..- I growled, and whined at the same time, realizing my foolish choice. I padded back to him and sat down beside him. -Well now what..- I asked in a softer growl. I swished my tail a second then curled it up beside me and sighed.

-I don't know- I bluntly said and stood up, turning around and back toward the stairs. I was about to start to head up them when a loud bang rang in my ears. It echoed through the whole seemingly large room.. And then lights started turning on. They started from the far back part of the facility, and started turning on in rows all the way up until they reached us. The whole room was brightly lit.. and everything was visible.
-Oh my god..- I said as I looked around in total awe. I didn't need to look at it another minute.. it clearly was where they kept or raised the dinosaurs.

I gulped and stood up immediately, I backed up and stood beside Tony. -Well this is a wonderful pickle we've gotten ourselves into.- Then I got an idea -Morph into a dino, they won't be able to tell the difference.- I whispered and sprinted over behind a large bush, I let myself fall close to the ground, then I morphed, I stood and stretched my small little arms. I then walked over to Tony and stood in front of him to hide him from the rest, wherever they were.

-It doesn't even sound like any others are in here..- I unreasonably spoke, glancing around skeptically. -Maybe Nelly is the only one here.- Of course, my judgment was snapped in half by the sound of a, much larger, dinosaur's screech. It didn't take any more to get me to morph.. I did so immediately.
This morph, however, felt much different than morphing into an animal. It was slightly relevant to changing into a bug.. but different still. My fur all seemed to just disappear, and was replaced with large scales. My ears folded down onto my head, and eventually just.. sunk into it. I felt my arms shrinking, my legs growing, and my tail becoming insanely heavy. It took a little longer than normal morphing.. but within a few seconds I was practically a clone to Nelly.

I lifted my large head and roared slightly and swung around, accidentally smacking Tony with it. -Sorry.- I immediately said -Not used to having a large tail like this.- I laughed, but it came out like a hoarse roar. I took a few steps and sighed, not liking the large bulky form I was in. Maybe there were some small dinos around I could touch and morph into.

I loudly snorted as I felt her heavy tail smack into my side. -Just watch it..- I said with a flare of my nostrils. I took one step forward, but was barely able to stay up. This body obviously was made for running and jumping... Not small areas like this. -I don't like this- I said, though it cam out as a high-pitched sound that was close to sounding like a crow. A large, mutated, hoarse crow, that is... It was so much easier being an animal. I was tempted to turn back into one.. but I knew it'd be hard to hold up my own if I did so.

I rolled my large eyes and tried my best to sit down, I finally got my tail out of the way and sat my big butt down. I roared in annoyance and banged my head back on the wall. What an annoying situation to be in. -See if you can go find a smaller dino to touch and morph into.- I said pushing the task off onto him and smiling best I could.

Had I had an actually mobile, expressive face.. Surely I would have scowled. However, I always had the same ugly expression on. -Fine- I accepted ungratefully and looked into the bushes. I was somewhat hesitant.. Knowing that there could easily be dinosaurs much bigger than I out there. But I had something they didn't have... A human mind. And surely I could outsmart any of them, any time.
I lifted my right leg high off the ground awkwardly, and took another wonky step forward. Not perfect, I admit... but it was better than the last time.
Finally I decided I was just going to go for it.. It wasn't like I would die if I fell over. I lifted my left leg off the ground, and then kicked off of the generic grass and began running into the unknown bushes and brush. The speed I was at was just short from incredible... I wasn't sure I had ever really moved that fast. I tried to jump over any logs I came across.. But most of the time I missed and just kicked them out of the way.
I had gone a pretty long way when I slowed down, and then stopped. I looked behind me just to see that Skye was clear out of sight.
With a loud huff, I looked forward again and glanced alertly around the area for any other life-forms.... So far, there was nothing.

I watched him take some awkward steps forward and laughed a little. Then watched as he began running and was soon out of sight. I sighed and leaned my head on the wall. I was so uncomfortable. I growled and moved my little short arms around as I tried to get back onto my feet. This was going to be difficult.

I let out a second sigh and swung my tail back and forth... Were there honestly any other dinosaurs in here? I soon got lost in thought, thinking about what were we going to do, and how we were going to escape. We couldn't stay in a different form for ever... in fact, we had just over an hour left. And we needed rest... If we didn't get rest, we wouldn't be very useful to ourselves, or each-other.
I decided to simply go back... We could stay in human form until we heard something... Then we could just change into dinosaurs again. My plan seemed flawless so far... I just had to go back to Skye.






It was about a half an hour before I finally managed to make my way back to familiar grounds. I knew I wasn't far from where I had left Skye. I lifted up one large foot after another to get across the ground without falling.. It was not as easy as it seemed.

Loud ground shaking footsteps made there way though my unconsciousness, it didn't click in my mind where I was, and that I was sleeping in a dangerous place. I continued in my restless sleep, turning and groaning, terrible dreasm. Just terrible. I had morphed human 20 minutes after Tony had left, i had lost track of time and didn't want to be stuck a dinosaur the rest of my life. I had doozed off on the grassy floor.

I finally made my was through the maze of bushes, leaves and trees.. and found myself safely set on the cold concrete ground. I looked around the area, and found a sleeping, tiny Skye laying on the ground below me. I can't say I blamed her... Sleep sounded completely magical right then. I quietly morphed human once again, and felt my eyes trying their hardest to shut... My body was completely drained of energy. No doubt I needed sleep.
However, I was stubborn. Skye and I needed to stay protected and safe... And considering I was the Male being there.. Automatically it was my job.
I remain standing though my body yearned to sit, and then started walking back and forth; quiet as a mouse. Walking was the only thing that could possibly keep me awake. And so, dreadfully yet respectfully.. I paced back and forth slowly.

I heard closer footsteps, then they changed to smaller footsteps, I opened my eyes, my vision quite blurry as I tried to sit up. I yawned a bit. Then leaned up against the wall, resting a little more. "Tony..?" I asked quietly, hoping it was him and not one of the scientists. I pushed my eyes open some more, forcing them. Then my eyes rested on the pacing Tony.

I very tiredly raised my right eyebrow and glanced back at Skye at the sound of her voice. And I was more than glad to stop pacing. "Yeah.." I spoke almost in a slurr, just out of tiredness. The bags under my eyes, and my scruffy hair made it horribly apparent that I was just about dead on my feet.

One look at his face made all the tiredness flow out of me, I willingly stood up and walked over to him, placing my hand on his arm. "You better get some rest.." I said softly, glancing around and biting my lip. I glanced up at him and gave him a gentle shove towards where I had been sleeping.

I narrowed my eyes at Skye, but couldn't possibly disagree with her.. At that point I would walk over crushed glass just to reach a pillow.
However, the floor would have to do. I willingly, and tiredly walked to where she was laying, then sat down. I stood there.. just kind of not doing anything for a couple of seconds, and then fell over.. asleep. I can't say it was the best sleep I ever had. But surely it was the most needed.

I smiled lightly as I watched him and shook my head a bit, then I crossed my arms and stood there, my eyes began to droop, I now realized why he had been pacing. To stay awake. I began pacing as he had, yawning every now and then. Whenever I heard a noise I'd become wide awake and look around me. Nothing. Then I'd continue pacing and yawning.

[Time skip? A couple of hours?]

Through my dreams, I slowly awoke... I wasn't really quite sure what woke me up.. Maybe just my gut.
I blinked a couple of times, and squinted my eyes as I looked up and saw Skye in front of me, standing up. Had she really been awake all this time?? I was mad.. but didn't have the time, or energy to even express it.
"Hey," I yawned as I sat up and began rubbing my eyes roughly.

(Oh, I wish I had that calligraphy skill, haha, that was pure GIMP fonts :P But thanks, I'm changing it it came out pixely.. xD if thats a word :P)

I glanced over at him and smiled. "Finally awake sleepy head?!" I asked and walked over flopping down beside him and yawning, I playfully shoved him and laughed gently, I didn't look tired at first glance but you could see the bags under my eyes and the tired expression I had after looking at me for a while. I stretched my limbs and bit my lip to hold in another yawn. "Nothing so far, I think Nelly was the only one." I explained.

I practically ignored her playful shove and yawned a second time. "I wouldn't doubt it. Maybe the sounds are simulated just so Nelly feels more at home?" I suggested, though I wasn't exactly 100% just yet.

"Maybe.." I said nodding as I sat in thought. My eyes drooped and I had no more energy left to keep them open. I slouched slightly and tried to push my eyes open again. I needed serious sleep. I leaned my head on Tony's shoulder, hoping he wouldn't mind. My eyes closed as if they were lead and I was soon sleeping silently.

I couldn't help but smile gently as I felt Skye rest her head on my shoulder. Come to think of it, I thought... I was pretty tired still. I was a fairly light sleeper.. And was confident that we would be safe.
I leaned back subtle against the wall, keeping Skye's head still there.. and shut my eyes slowly. It took a couple of minutes for me to settle.. but I was soon asleep as well.
