Animorphs

(okay... how abouttttt.... the girl comes but they don't recognize her and they start running, but then she catches up and what not.. then there can be a drama between the girl and otny and erm Syke.....lol)

I nodded and bit my lip, feeling sort of sad and down about it all. She had risked her life.. and we didn't even stay behind to help her or anything. I swallowed another lump and noticed his conversation change. I left my hands relax, I didn't really need to hold on anymore because we were going really slowly. I released his mane and randomly began to braid a start of it. Then I saw a bullet wound on his shoulder, I wanted to help it in some way it was probably painful for him. But then he might yell at me again.. Better not. So I decided against it and placed my hands down on his withers, scratching ever so lightly. Then I realized how awkward it would be if he wasn't in his horse form, in this moment I would be scratching his neck. I almost laughed at that thought and continued scratching.

I twitched my withers and arched my neck around, shoving her hand away from the base of my mane with the tip of my velvety nose. -Braid it... And die.- I pulled my ears back tightly, giving her a scowling stare.
But I couldn't hold it. I snorted out a laugh and turned my head back, once again not waiting for a response. -I'm joking, but... I'm not joking. Please save me some of my masculinity. Don't braid the hair.- My voice was hinted with a laugh that I wouldn't let out.

(Braid it... And die. AHAHHHAAH!!!)

I looked at him wide eyed and innocently, trying to hide a little laugh. Then I couldn't help but giggle when he snorted with laughter. Then I laughed out loud. I reached for the part that I had managed to braid a little bit and began to undo it. "Fine.. pfft, be that way!" I giggled and rolled my eyes playfully. I then needing something to do with my hands in the meantime began twirling, just twirling it, around my pointer finger and watched as it coiled up around it, then undid itself. I repeated this process then got bored and sighed releasing the mane and looking around. 'Where are we anyway??" I asked.

I stopped walking and lifted up my head about as high as I could, listening and looking around at our surrounds. -Uhhmm.- I said as I swerved my ears forward and listened. I went to answer with an "I don't know", but I paused as I heard a noise coming from behind us.
I spun around, quickly, but steadily to make sure I didn't jeopardize Skye's balance.
-Do you hear that?- My eyes were wide as my gaze darted around. Of course she didn't... She wasn't morphed. I could have face-palmed myself... If I had hands.

He seemed to be sniffing the air, well no, actually he was just looking around with his neck stretched and his muzzle high in the air. Suddenly he spun around, I hadn't lost my balance but it startled me and I tangled my hands in his mane to keep me steady, or to make me think I was keeping myself steady, although I already was.. "What the-" I cut off as he spoke, I fought the urge to smack him on the neck. Duhh, of course I couldn't hear. I shrugged and willed myself to answer with a calm voice. "Um..no.." I said a little confused.

I exhaled, listening to the noise... It was distant, no doubt. But it was a fast and constant rhythm, one beat high, the other slightly lower... Like something running. Something very heavy running. The very first thing that came to my mind was Nelly. I knew I wouldn't have enough energy to morph again, let alone fight.
Therefore, I was taking the slight option. -Hold on!- I gave Skye a forewarning, then took off. My legs were almost in a tangle as I spun around, then bolted off in the direction I had been walking in prior to... Well... This.

I tried to listen also, failing completely. I then saw Tony's reaction and nodded as he told me to hold on. I leaned forward and wrapped my arms halfway around his neck. It was the only way to go, without hurting him and pulling his mane a lot. I squeezed my eyes shut and pressed my lips together, getting the idea, someone was chasing us.. It was obvious.

My hooves pounded loudly on the soft, grassy ground as I galloped, fast as I could. I felt my energy draining just as it had however long ago it was... When we were making our little getaway. But I didn't let it take my this time, I kept pushing myself as fast as I could go. And, surprisingly... I was getting somewhere.
Despite the sound of the wind in my ears, my hooves hitting the ground harshly, and my lungs letting out large and loud bursts of air all at once... I could hear the other sound coming. Closer, and closer.
I finally made myself slow down slightly to look back behind me. It took a moment for my eyes to focus, but when they did, I could actually see it. It looked just like Nelly.. Hell, it probably was Nelly. A wild look was on it's face, it was running even faster than me, covering more ground with each stride.
I barely was able to suppress a loud squeal/whinny... Thing... As I took off again, faster this time. But a sound came from the dinosaur that I honestly didn't expect.
-Slow down! Stop! It's me!- It was a female voice. A very familiar one...

I focused my mind on the pounding of his hooves.. Mixed in with some.. loud pounding footsteps behind us? I dared to peek a glimpse of whatever was following us. Oh my gosh it was Nelly!! I almost yelped and grabbed onto Tony's mane a little tighter. Fear engulfing me, if that dino caught up to us, we'd be dead meat. I squeezed my eyes shut again, I noticed when Tony slowed a little and thought to myself if he was nuts or something. Then he sped up again. Next thing I knew the dino... was Talking? I sat bolt upright, making sure to hold onto his mane and I looked back, a look of exasperation was on the dinosaurs face. Oh my gosh.. it was that.. girl! What's her name!! Um... #216 I think.. or #236. Whatever SHE WAS ALIVE! "Oh my gosh stop!" I said immediately to Tony.

I heard the dinosaur, then very shortly after I heard Skye shouting for me to stop. I did just that.
In one immediate and sudden motion, my feet all stopped moving and went out forward, causing me to stop so fast that I nearly toppled over. I lifted my neck up high, ensuring that if Skye was going to fall off.. She'd just hit my neck.
The dinosaur, er... #261 still ran toward us, and as I turned around, I grew more nervous.
Then, when she was only about 10 feet from us, she morphed into a human, but kept running.
My eyes were wide, still spooked-looking, for the most part. And I pulled my ears flat back against my head as she still ran toward us. Her expression was still frantic.

I gasped as Tony skidded to a stop and almost flew forward, instead hitting Tonys neck. I coughed a bit then he turned and faced the running dinosaur. I pressed my lips together and looked a little scared, what if this was a trap or something? I swallowed hard, then she morphed, looking even more frantic than as a dinosaur, she kept running towards us. I slid down off of Tony's back wincing as my ankle twisted a little and my legs wobbled form the wounds. "Hey is everything okay.." I asked, then stood still. "Oh no are they chasing you or something?!" I gasped and my eyes grew wide again as I was prepared to jump back onto Tonys back.

I dropped my neck and pressed it against Skye's side for a moment, making sure she wasn't going to fall... Then when she had her balance, or.. Most of it, I pulled my head away and prepared to morph. But then Skye asked if they were chasing her, and I decided I'd better stay prepared.
She kept right on running, her hair flipped in every which direction, and her legs moving in an unorganized scramble. She finally caught up to us and stopped just a few feet away. I smelled an absolutely nose-burning odor coming from her... God, is that what it was like for Horses every time someone with B.O came up to them? I wrinkled my nose.
'You- guys... areintrouble." She gasped out the words. Obviously she'd been running for a while.
-No dip, chip.- I nickered sarcastically, swerving my ears backward.

I smiled at Tony/ "Thanks.." I whispered before looking back at the girl running towards us, She looked worn out and terrified, to say the least. He hair whipped every which way and he cheeks were flushed a pale pink. She finally stopped and was catching her breath when she gasped out a few words. I heard Tony's remark and fought the urge to laugh. "Are they chasing you? What happened, hurry, tell!" I said impatiently and fear swelled up inside of me. I bit my lip and leaned gently on Tony's neck feeling my balance give in a little.

She shook her head back and forth madly. -No, not yet... But they're sending more after you. Lots more. Of-" She sucked in a deep breath, "-morphers..." I could tell she was trying to calm herself down... She wasn't very good at it.
-Exactly how many is 'more'?- I snorted, a skeptical look still on my face. It was funny how, when I was away from this girl, I felt sorry for her. But when she was here... I don't know. I felt like I didn't believe her anymore. Though, I knew I should?
I was confusing myself more than necessary. I shook my head a little and waited for a reply from her.

I became quiet as I listened to the girl speak. Lots more. More.. Lots more.. The words rang in my head and I began to think, how many was lots more? Morphers? We were done for, who knows what large scary things they've touched. I felt the fear in my gut and I couldn't hide it as it crept onto my face.

The girl lazily shrugged, and I snorted again. -Then we need to get out of here.- I pointed out the absolute obvious, then went to turn, while making sure I wouldn't bump down Skye. -Hop on my back if you want... You don't look in the best shape.- I said, intending to be rude. She didn't seem to mind much, and stumbled toward me. She placed a hand on the center of my back, then waited for Skye to get on.

I nodded a little shocked and quickly pulled myself onto Tony's back, I grabbed a hold of his mane and waited for the other girl to get on. I noticed Tony's rudeness and smacked his neck a little. What was his problem?! I huffed a little and pursed my lip.

I felt Skye's hand hit my neck, but it hardly felt like much. I ignored it the best I could and stood still as I felt #252 hoist herself onto my back, behind where Skye was.
-Everyone comfortable?- I said without expecting an answer... If I did get one, it'd be a smack on the shoulder or neck. No doubt.
I shook my mane a little and lifted my head up high, kicking myself into a trot.

I rolled my eyes and sat patiently, not bothering to reply to Tony. I shifted a little then he moved into a trot, and the other thing that could be heard were the soft hoof beats on moss. I looked up at the sky and though about all the recent happenings, being chased. And that awkward moment with Tony, where he looked nervous.. now he looked as if he didn't remember it. I sighed a little and looked down.

I felt Skye slightly stiffen with thought and snorted out. Did she ever stop thinking? I could also feel #262's legs squeeze tighter than necessary around my hinds quarters. -Hurr hurr,- I said unhappily, kicking up just a little bit. -Mind loosening up a little bit back there?- My ears were pinned back against my head, I wasn't really up for a whole lot of crap. I hoped I was making that clear.
"Sorry." She murmured and I felt her loosen, though now she felt much more uncomfortable. She had her hands resting on the lower part of my spine, pressing down so she wasn't to fall off. I preferred she kept her hands to herself, but I let that one slide.
But eventually, I started to feel a little bad... Time passed, land disappeared behind us faster than I'd expected.. And she didn't say a word.
-So, do you have a name?- I nearly gagged out the words, disgusted that I was making an attempt to make her feel better. If it weren't for her we wouldn't be in this mess at all. But I forced my ears forward and made myself look at least a little more pleasant, for her sake.

(Rememberrrrr!! Later on the girl is supposed to like him.. and well, he sorta kinda.. MAYBE i dunno likes her, but then well, we can play it by ear.. xD)

I pressed my lips together, trying to keep myself from smacking his neck again. I soon was jerked from my thoughts and sitting quietly, my eyes drooping slightly, with hunger, and lack of sleep. I cleared my throat to say something, but Tony had already beat me to it. He seemed really reluctant to be speaking to the girl. I rolled my eyes lightly and looked to my side, watching her in my peripherally vision. Then I looked back at Tony and yawned, I was thoroughly exhausted and my arms, legs back and side throbbed with pain that I had ignored up until now.

[Ohh yeah. xD Gonna take a major turn now. :O ]


"Well.." She started slowly, I waited impatiently. "We weren't ever allowed to let the scientists hear. But... My sister and I named each other. She was Sonny.." She hesitated. "I'm Maria." She said after clearing her throat. I narrowed my eyes and swerved my ears backwards to listen to her better.
-Well, it's a pretty name.- Being nice to her was actually getting easier... I could almost feel her smile. I glanced back and saw that I was right, she was smiling sheepishly and looking down. I would have smiled if I could, and turned ahead again without looking at Skye.

I listened to their conversation and nodded at Tony's words. It was a pretty name. "Yeah I agree, Maria is a pretty name." I said and smiled back at her. Instantly regretting it because the cut stung when I did. I had almost forgotten about the cut, because I could now open my eye normally, but any expressions I made with my face pained me. I winced and reached up to touch it a little.

"Mmf... Thanks." Maria had murmured to Skye. I could have snorted with laughter. Ha... How did that feel, Skye?
I quickened my pace slightly and lifted my head a little higher, the beat of the trot getting a little less bumpy. Every step was starting to feel more and more dreadful, I knew somewhere inside of me that I wasn't gonna be able to go on for much longer. But I liked to make myself feel like I could.
"You seem tired," Maria decided to say, and I could feel her much less shy gaze on me now, I almost felt a little embarrassed.
Nice observation. I said in my mind... Almost thinking that I had said it aloud. When I realized that I hadn't, I decided to say something a little bit nicer. -I am, thanks for worrying... Maybe we can stop in a little while here.- I sheepishly spoke.

As I heard her, I fell silent. What the hell? I was just trying to be nice. I then noticed the sheepish comments going between them. It was all so sickening. I then mustered all my strength and pulled my leg around and slid easily off of Tony, he was only at a walk and it wasn't really hard. I slowly began walking beside them. Staring aimlessly at the ground. I had to admit, being 'dissed' was worse than all these wounds.. It was a pain in my ego, and in my heart, sorta.. ehrm..
