Oak Ridge Academy II

Rose heard a crack behind her and lunged forward, Maureen held on tightly. "Ho!" (Means stop for horses....my firned taught me :P) She called to Rose as Rose bolted forward into a flat gallop. The sound of loud hoofbeats overwhelmed the air, then a loud scream as Maureen slipped from Rose's back plunging to the ground, then hitting it with a force that knocked the air out of her, she stared up her breathing scarece, soon she blacked out. She felt like she was falling in her dream, just falling into sheer blackness. She couldn't wake up.

Rose came to a quick halt and trotted back to Maureen nuzzling her as if saying i'm sorry, get up. But Maureen just lay there silent, motionless, limp on the forest floor.

[Two-time replier-er! xD and.. OHNOES, shane isn't even on the Same trail! 0_0]

Shane slowed Cody to a Walk and looked around the Forest, trying to get Maureen off his mind.. "C'mon boy.." He said gently to Cody and pat his neck as he Urged him into a Canter down the Trail, Looking around and Enjoying the Beautiful Sights and Sounds.

(I was bored *Pouts* LOL)

Maureen lay there, motionless and silent.

Rose reared up and whirled aroudn to the trails end, going into a full out gallop, her neighs echoed through the forest. She knew she was supposed to get help. She neighed again and agaia coming to the end of the trail she reared and stomped her hoves on a tree,l eaving deep imprints, she neighed again. Frustrated that no one was coming so far.

"woah" Shane said with a confused face as he pulled back on the Reins to stop Cody. He looked around with Wide eyes. "I'm not crazy and I Boy?.." HE asked Cody in a very gentle tone, He could have sworn he heard a Whinny..
Cody snorted and looked around the Woods for where it came from.
"ugh.. Cmon" Shane said and pulled back hard on the Reins to Turn Cody around.
Cody stomped his Hoof and Refused to go, tossing his head.
"Now!" shane said, getting a little angry, He grabbed the Reins and looped them, hitting Cody on the shoulder with them.
Cody snorted and Truned around, bucking a little bit, He bolted back up the Trails.

Rose came tot he ground with a thud and snorted, she twitched her ears and silenced, hearing hoofbeats, she negiehd even louder than before, it echoed again. She bolted in the direction of the hoofbeats. Bobbing her head frantically.

Shane slowed Cody to a Trot and Sighed. He looked around, Not hearing anything, then stopped Cody completely. "I think I'm going insane..'' he muttered to himself and looked down the Trail that Maureen was on.
"COuldn't hurt to check.." He said to himself and kicked Cody's side, pulling the Reins to the Left, down the Trail.
Cody snorted loudly, getting sick of this. But He obeyed, and Galloped down the Trail.

Rose came to a fast walk, soon seeing Shane, she bolted forward and bobbed her head nickering right at him. And coming up behind Cody to get him ot moved faster.

Shane pulled Cody to a quick stop. "Rose?.." He asked in a confused tone. "Wheres Mau-.. uh oh.." He said, realizing she was probably hurt. "Lord don't let her be at the waterfall.." He prayed in a low tone, Knowing that if cody saw it, he could Kill him..
Shane kicked Cody's side, Hard, and leaned forward, He didn't have time for him to be stubborn.
Cody snroted and Bolted forward in A Gallop faster than Shane had really ever seen him do.

Rose bolted after them, her mane and tail whipping around in the wind. Soon Maureen was coming into veiw, laying limp on her back, head to the side, and her leg looked...broken.

Rose nickered loudly and slowed. She came up beside Maureen and nuzzled her cheek, nothing,not even a pat on the neck was returned.

Shane widened his eyes as he asaw Maureen on the ground, pulling cody into A Canter, he jumped off the Side of him before he could even slow down anymore.
Shane ran to Maureen's side and kneeled down, nudging her shoulder. "Maureen?!" He asked frantically.

Nothing, silence, her face was pale and her eyes were loosely shut. Rose nudged Shane gently then muzzled Maureens hand. Lipping her hair worriedly. She looked up at Shane with eyes full of silent words. "Please help her." Seemed to show through her eyes, as if she had spoken them herself, but she hadn't uttered a sound, because well, duh horses can't talk, but she talked with her eyes. Suddenly Maureen stirred, coughing slightly, but not openeing her eyes.

Shane gulped softly and nodded a little, almost in Reply to Rose.
"Its okay.." He o=comforted Maureen softly as he picked her up. he set her down on Cody, just above the Saddle and on his neck. "Stay, Cody.." He said in a Stern tone as he mounted, making sure to hold Maureen in place, he pulled her onto his Left leg, Holding her with his left arm, And holding the Reins with his Right.
"Cmon, Rose.." He said in a soft tone and pulled Cody's reins, directing him in a fast walk up the Trail.
Cody nickered and walked up the Trail with his head low.

Rose lowered her head and trotted after them, flicking her long ribbon like tail at a fly. She snorted softly her eyes not leaving cody, Shane and Maureen.

Maureen groaned softly, "Ow!" She moaned looking at her leg. "It...it.....feels..." She paused to swallow hard as she closed her eyes setting her jaw, careful not to cut off the circulation in Shanes arm as she grasped it somewhat tightly. "..broken," she finnished softly.

"It'll be ok.." Shane said and pulled his foot out of the stirrup, raising his leg so she wouldn't slip off.
Cody sped up his walk a little bit and snorted, ignoring Rose.

She leaned her head back on his shoulder. Her face drawn up into a look of sheer pain. She opened her eyes again and looked at Rose. Biting her lip. No riding.... She thought as she looked at her broken leg

Shane bit his lip as they came ot the top of the Trails, the pastures in Sight. "hold onto my Arm.. Tight" He warned Maureen.
Cody snorted, knowing Shane was gonna Make him go faster.

She bit her lip and instead of grabbing his arms, wrapped her arms arorn his mid waist, it gave her better balance. "kay." She said bting her lip then releasing it.

Shane made sure he had a Good hold of her, then kicked Cody's Side with his left foot. "cmon!" He said in a Kind of Stressed tone to Cody.
Cody tossed his head and Bolted to the Stables in a Gallop.
Once they got there, Shane pulled Cody to a Stop right outside the Stables. "hold onto the Horn of the Saddle.." He said to Maureen.

he unwound her arms from around him and held tihtly onto the horn of the saddle staring at the ground, a wince on her face as she shifted her weight. Rose came up beside them and nuzzled her cheek.

Shane slid out of the Saddle and landed on the ground, Catching his balance, He Put one Arm under Maurreen and Grabbed her arm gently with the Other, "K, let go.." He said gently.

She released the saddle horn, and bit her lip hard as she tried moving her leg. Tears wheled in her eyes and she closed them slightly.

"i'm Really sorry.. this is my fault.." shane said in a Low tone as he got one Arm behind her upper back and one supporting her from the back of her knees. "In Your Stall." He said in a firm tone to Cody.
Cody know exactly what he meant, and Walked to his stall, Tack still on.
Shane walked quickly up towards the Nurse's office.

"N..no i....it's m...mine." She stumbled over her words and sighed, feeling like a helpless child in his arms, she looked at the sky and bit her lip willing herself to stop thinking abotu her leg. Rose trotted into the pastures and lied down her ears and tail drooping slightly.

Shane sighed and kept walking till he came To the Building, He opened the door with one hand and kicked it the rest of the Way open with is foot, quickly walking in, He went to the Nurse's door and knocked on it, Shifting Maureen's weight from one arm to the other.

The nurse opened the door and looked form Shane ot Maureen then at Maureens leg. "Oh dear, come in and lay her down on that bed right there." She siad motioning to a bed in the corner, that only had a white bed sheet and a white pillow. She quickly went to her desk. "Name?" "Maureen Parker." Maureen said softly. The nurse nodded and pulled out her files. It didn't take a scientist to know that the leg was broken, she was only a nurse, and would have to call in a doctor from town. She qickly phoned a hospital and stood up waiting for Shane to carry Maureen to the bed.
