Animorphs

I watched him looked around and then he moved back to a different chair. I bit my lip, my heart still hadn't calmed down yet, I had the feeling it was trying to tell me something. I pressed my lips together for a moment then spoke. "Well... I...er..I have mild amnesia.." I said and furrowed my brow.. "I can't.. remember lots of pieces to what happened.. I can't remember.. [size=5]you..[size..].." I whispered, almost choking on the words. I kept my eyes glued to his face. Suddenly a new piece came back, Tony taking his foot off of the dinosaur I was standing on top of. I remembered that.. It was the last thing I remembered before excruciation pain then darkness. I narrowed my eyes a bit, balling my fists. I wanted to remember. I could care less about the stupid fight or whatever the heck it was, I barely remembered. I wanted to remember Tony!

I stared at her with a blank face. Me? As in... Me-Me? Tony? Her best friend? That me?!
I could feel my eyes widen, then narrow slightly. With a stiff smile, I stifled a few laughs. "Me? You don't remember.... Me." I only then realized how low and cautious my voice was. "That's... That's not possible. We're.. Best friends." I murmured the last part, still never taking my gaze off of her eyes. It was unreal, impossible... How... Why wouldn't the nurses have told me? My obviously unhappy smile flickered on and off.. Mostly off. I couldn't believe it.

I felt my eyes sting as I saw his unbelieving face, I turned away from him. Squeezing them closed. I shouldn't be feeling this, I didn't know him, I knew his face, I just didn't ..know him. I sighed and then looked back up at him. "Tell me.. about you.. about.. er.. us.. or Help me remember.." I whispered and looked down at the blankets. It was like a big picture in front of me telling me everything, but I just couldn't read it, the print was to fine for me. My eyes stung more and I reached up to rub them with the back of my hand.

"I.. Erm.." I kind of stuttered, trying to think of something about me that might help her. But I came up blank... I shouldn't need to! She already knew me! "I.. Don't know. My name is Tony Anderson? We've known each other since we were.. Really young. Uhm." I tried to think. "Do you.. Remember how we met? Where we met?" I asked. If she didn't remember being able to morph, and I reminded her.. That might be the thing that snaps her back.

"I...erm... not really.. I remember a part of what happened in the woods... a... dinosaur.. Two of them.. I.. I can't quite remember.. I " I stammered, it was so hard to see him looking like this, I felt.. Helpless, why couldn't I just magically remember and make all this go back to normal. I sniffled lightly and looked away. "That's all I remember.. then I remember a little of my childhood.. A science lab? Then I remember Alice.. and that one day we were together at the.. uhmm, gas station was it?" I felt really bad not remembering hardly anything. I imagined how painful it was to him.

I shook my head a little and thought. Well, it was a start... sort of. "The dinosaurs... Do you remember who they were at all?" I felt bad continuously asking her questions... But it was the only way I was gonna get answers. And maybe the only thing that was gonna get me my friend back.
It was all my fault, anyways. If I hadn't been such an egotistic jerk in the first place, we wouldn't have been caught. I knew it... I just did.

"Not.. really.. I remember I called out your name when the big dinosaur stepped off of the others head. It was pretty gruesome.." I said and looked at him. "Was it you?" I said, my eyes sparkling with some distant recognition. I needed more information. "Tell me more.. Please!" I said almost frantically.

I nodded blankly. ".. One of them." I pretended to ignore her last plea. I didn't know what else to say.. It tore me that she wanted me to so badly and I couldn't.
"It was Ma- Er.. #262. The other dinosaur. A girl from the science lab when we were kids... She pretended to help us, but was.. Er.. Bad." I paused briefly, seemingly staring into the distance. Then I looked at her again, curiosity shining in my eyes. "You.. don't know exactly what you're capable of doing, do you?"

I listened intently gobbling it all up and nodding now and then. "#262, that.. Rings a bell.. Oh! That girl! Maria! The.. animal shape shifter girl!" I said suddenly remembering that part. My eyes clouded slightly, then a few more memories came back, the time when Tony had turned against me and left with the other girl. Maybe he wasn't my best friend, why would he do that? I don't remember what it was all about, but we exchanged harsh words and I stormed off. I bit my lip. Then frowned lightly.. "I remember........ a fight.." I said watching his expression.

I felt my gut twist as she mentioned a fight... I got the feeling she wasn't talking about the dinosaur scuffle.
"Erm... There were lots of fights going on. What about your family? Your uncle's Eagle rescue center? My sixteenth birthday... We had it at your house, cause mine was getting fumigated. We used to hang with each other every day..." I was desperate now. Both to get her mind away from that fight, and to get her to remember. Which I wanted more, I wasn't sure.

I stared at him, the twinkle returning to my eyes. "Yeah.. I remember.. the birthday.. -" I began to giggle.. Had had showed up out of the blue, only an hour before his birthday with all these decorations and we had been running around the room like mad people trying to get the decorations up, while my Mom collaborated and called or text-ed all the guests giving them the new address of the party. I looked at him. "You never told me why your house was being fumigated, but I didn't really care.. As long as it wasn't spiders I was okay.." I laughed again but pain ran up my spine again and I winced and started coughing again, grabbing the cup on the nightstand beside me and taking a sip. Then out of my excitement I almost dropped the cup. "Oh my gosh I remember .. well.. never mind it's not important.." I sighed and leaned back, just because I felt a little comfort while I was totally out of it didn't mean anything. I stared over at him. "Any more...?!" I asked with a small laugh.

I couldn't help but smile as she talked... Finally, my Skye was starting to come through. "What can you expect when little siblings allow their 'Pet spiders' to stay in the house for weeks and weeks without telling anyone?" I rolled my eyes a little and laughed.
"Uhh. More.. Let's see." I thought, looking at the floor for a few moments. "Well, there was us having fun terrorizing our school with Alice... That was pretty much where things went south." I looked at Skye again. Maybe that would be what clicked her memory?...

My eyes widened as he spoke. "Aghh! Remind me never to go over to your house again!" I burst into giggled, but regretted it and my mouth returned to a thin line. "I hate this.. I can't even laugh without my whole body getting mad at me.." I almost growled, and sighed, listening to him as he continued speaking. "Oh! Wait.. umm. I'm remembering.. something about morphing... what the. OH right! We can morph! I can't believe I forgot that!" I sighed, it was all coming back, but not quite..

I tilted my head a little. "My bad, thought you already remembered that... I guess I could have mentioned it." I said, then laughed a little. What a.. stupid thing to forget. "Well... There also was that time where your Boyfriend bailed on a date with you for another girl... And I came over to your house and we spent the whole night watching movies, drinking soda and eating popcorn and pizza?" I couldn't help but smirk remembering that... I hated to see her hurt at the beginning of that night, but it ended up being so much fun. "We didn't go to bed til, like.. Five in the morning. Aside from how the night came to be, it was pretty awesome."

I beamed over at him. "Oh my gosh.. I remember that! I was so depressed, then I decided to call you, since Alice was out of town and all.. I don't know if I ever thanked you.. but.. That was awesome.. thanks!" I laughed lightly and looked down, well, remembering was pretty easy. My heart rate had returned to a normal speed a while ago, but when he mentioned all this stuff I realized why it had sped up whenever I heard his name int he first place.. He was my best friend, and I had a little.. maybe a big crush on him.. Though I would never admit it.. As far as I knew he was dating one of the girls from our school. I sighed lightly. Then looked back up. Thinking hard now, it seemed the missing pieces just fell into place. After a week of not remembering, I was doing pretty well, Tony was causing all the memories to flood back.. That would be because he was in almost all of them.

"You never needed to say it... I knew you were thankful." I smiled a bit, then glanced away. "Is anything else coming back to you?" I asked in a quieter voice as I looked up at her again. I was already sick of my stupid IV stand, constantly obnoxiously beeping. I felt the burning urge to pull the stupid tubes off of my arm, but resisted... The last thing I needed was something else medically wrong with my body.

I shook my head, err, more like shook my upper body, it was pretty much impossible to move my neck without moving my whole body. I then looked over at him. "Tell me more.. please?" I asked with a smile pulling across my face. Then I remembered the cut that had ran along the side of my face, I reached up to touch it, it hadn't been anything really deep, but I felt the small scab from it. (It's not serious, it runs from the end of her right eyebrow and goes halfway to her ear, it's really thin, and all you can see is the small scab, and then it'll fade into the tiniest scar.. so yeah, I just remembered it from earlier int he RP and well, I thought I'd have her remember it lol)

I racked my brain trying to think of some other big thing that happened... It wasn't like there weren't many memories of me and Skye. There were hundreds... Thousands. But I couldn't think of many that would make a real difference in her memory... And I was worried that she didn't remember most of them in the first place.
"Well... Your favorite form to morph is a Horse. Mine's a wolf." I said, still trying to think. "We went and saw Owl city last year, in concert... You got to meet Adam Young afterward."

I listened and smiled again. "Ohhh. I love Owl City....I think I remember that.. Oh yeaahh! I remember meeting Adam Young!" I exclaimed getting excited. "I remember when you and I met.. I remember the fight.. I remember.. that........ person.." I said with a small frown then continued on. "I remember that day when that really stalkerish girlfriend of you told you that you couldn't hang out with me anymore because she was jealous.. And you dumped her on the spot.." I laughed lightly and nodded at the memory.

I nodded, grimacing at that last reminder of that girl. "Oh yes.. I remember her." I said, rolling my eyes quickly. "Anything else coming back?" I eagerly asked, wincing as I went to lean down, but was stopped my the stitched-up scratches on my side. I returned to my previous position, careful not to hurt myself anywhere else, and looked back at Skye for an answer.

"Well, I got the more important stuff, who you are.. I remember my brother.. I remember what happened to my.. -" I winced at the memory. "..My mom.." I choked then continued.. "The fight, basically everything, anything else will soon fall into place!" I said and smiled. I looked over at him, every little detail about him flooding into mind. His favorite color was Sapphire Blue, his favorite song was Bring Me Back To Life By Evanescence, he favorite food was Gnocchi, he loves the movies Facing The Giants and the new Star Trek, he absolutely loves his super nintendo, I remember when his adoptive dad bought it for him he invited me and a few others over and we played all day, and stuffed ourselves full of junk food! I giggled and bit my lip. Wow, it was good to be normal again, I hated having amnesia, even if it was the slightest bit. "Why don't you sit in this chair?" I asked motioning towards the chair near the bed. "The one you're sitting on doesn't have a cushion." I said and raised an eyebrow with a small smile.

I beamed as she recited the memories... My smile faded as I heard her mention her mother... But returned when she smiled again. "I thought you'd never ask." I said with relief and gathered my crutches, using them to help my stand up and hobble over to the chair that was much closer to the bed. I set the crutches aside once again and took my seat, instantly letting out a sigh of relief as I leaned back on the cushion that, right now, seemed heavenly.
"Much better." I grinned, then looked at Skye again. "Well, I can't tell you how glad I am that the old Skye is coming back." I said, smiling a little wider.

I felt myself laugh lightly. "Gosh, you're such an old man!" I poked fun, the way he hobbled over and sighed with relief when he sat down reminded me of my adoptive moms, dad. I felt myself laugh lightly. Then looked at him. "I know. I'm glad I'm coming back too!" I said and laughed gently. I looked at his side and bit my lip. "Yikes.. That girl had some good aim..." I shuddered.. "Hey.. speaking of her.. what happened, is she still alive?"

"Oh ha-ha.." I said sarcastically with a chuckle, playfully sticking my tongue out at Skye. When I heard her mention my side, I moaned quietly. "Mmf.." I groaned, taking a small glance down at my side. "I'll say." I looked back at her, and heard her question. Instantly a pang of guilt hit my stomach. I felt horrible at what I'd done... I wished I could tell Skye that #262 gave in, ran away... Promised not to work for the scientists anymore, or that she got amnesia and I put her in an adoption home or sorts.
But I knew that Skye would stew over that... And I knew it was a possibility that it'd make her feel unsafe in ways. Like someone who thirsted for her blood was still out there.
I exhaled quietly before looking at her again. "She's.. Not gonna come after either of us anymore." I said quietly.

I enjoyed a small laugh while it lasted and he then became solemn and looked sort of sad and guilty. I bit my lip and listened. I got it. I understood perfectly. I looked down, she was dead. he had.. killed her. "Oh.." I murmured. Then I racked my brain for something else to say, to change the topic. I looked over at him, then looked away I remembered all those things I had said to him. I uncrossed my arms and my hands laid at my side as I stared out the window. "I'm sorry..." I whispered. Hoping he would know why I was saying this.
